Traditional brackets achieve alignment by moving the stake in and out of the brickwork cavity, a method that can introduce cold bridging, debris in the cavity and long-term loosening. Every hammer blow into masonry sends shock through the mortar joint. The damage isn’t always visible, but the freeze–thaw cycle will find it.
